It's only a week until it's time to visit the big city now! As part of my degree, students are given the opportunity to visit New York for a week. This includes exclusive visits to large fashion and marketing companies in the area. Of course I wasn't going to miss the chance to do that! I can't wait to see what the tutors have in store for us and hopefully lots of shopping will be done!

It's Christmasssssssss

I never was a huge fan of Christmas, but this year was the best one I've had since I was about 10 years old. Since going to uni, my parents seem to have grown a hugeeee amount of love for me and I've been the ultimate princess back at home. I don't mean to sound like a brat, because of course I'm enjoying spending the time with them that I never usually get. It's been nice to have the washing machine and my dinners cooked for me and my double bed and the car and seeing all the friends and family as well. Moving away has made me realise just how much my family mean to me and also what the true meaning of Christmas is (yes, that sounds very cliche. no, I don't mean to celebrate the life of "Jesus"). I never thought I'd appreciate this time of year so much, but it really has been the most special Christmas ever.

Clothes Show Live!

For a week at the beginning of December, a selection of girls from my course were chosen to work at Clothes Show Live. Due to there being an oversubscribed amount of people for the dresser jobs, four other girls and I (as pictured above) were put on the Paparazzi Pen. It deemed to be a challenging, yet very exciting job. I was able to get an insight into the life of celebrities behind closed doors and also see how a fashion show is put together from beginning to end. I met people such as: George Lamb, Kimberly Wyatt, Lucienne Laviscount, Jeff Brazier and a few from the infamous 'TOWIE' cast.
Not forgetting these hotties below that we got to spend most days drooling over! (and, yes that is BB from Dirty Sexy Things!)

It was a surreal week and brought to light exactly what the fashion world is like. There is no way that the fashion world is as glamorous as it looks, you've all seen "The Devil Wears Prada" haven't you? Well it's not far off the truth. I'm not saying this because I'm against the ways in which the fashion world works, in fact, I think it's a fantastic way to be. It's a difficult industry to crack, but my god it'll be worth it when I eventually get there! I can't wait for the challenges and decisions I have to face with in future life. Clothes Show is just something that has certified my choice of career, even despite the reality of it all!

life begins at university.

So my first proper week at uni is nearly over, and surprisingly I'm feeling extremely motivated! Last week was a bit of a drag, but now I'm getting into the swing of things I'm feeling highly ambitious and inspired by the things we've been learning the past couple of days. This is the first time in my 14 years of education that I've actually thoroughly enjoyed something and I cannot wait to get stuck in!
